Ellie is a multi-media storyteller based in NYC.

Currently, they’re the Assistant Managing Editor at South Side Weekly and the R&B/Hip-Hop Editor at The Luna Collective.

They graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.A. in Philosophy, Sociology, and Gender & Sexuality Studies. While at UChicago, Ellie was the Music Director of Voices in Your Head, a contemporary a cappella group that ranked 4th internationally and won the LA A Cappella Festival’s scholastic competition under their leadership. They were also the Writing Editor of MODA Magazine, named one of the top collegiate fashion magazines in the country by Teen Vogue. Both experiences developed their ability to compose thematic and narrative unfoldings.

During their undergraduate career, they had the pleasure of interning at WBEZ, Chicago Review, and Articles of Interest, fostering their love of compassionate, truthful, and creative storytelling and strengthening their research, writing, interviewing, digital communications, and audio production skills.

In their free time, they love to collect zines, cook up scrappy recipes, and experience as much live music as possible.

Please reach out if you’d like to work together! They’re especially excited about creative interview formats and vocal arranging projects.
